I was commissioned by Cycle World Magazine to illustrate a concept rendering of what the rumored 2015 Ducati Scrambler could look like as the new model is set to be unveiled in Milan this fall.  It was a collaborative effort with the staff, picking cues from the trajectory of modern Ducatis as well as keeping the stance and overall proportions of a classic scrambler.  Street tires and a low slung exhaust are indicative of a more road biased machine but the flat seat, high bars, and low weight bring out the characteristics of a scrambler style motorcycle.  Special thanks to the king of spy photo translation, Josiah LaColla, for his keen insights and rendering advice.
Process of the rendering.  I created three loose concepts to begin with and we funneled them down to a single direction.  I then did a line drawing to layout the big forms and then used the pen tool to get the clean lines.  Hope you enjoy the concept!
